Perfection of human body thru the eyes of a genius. Handmade statue of the Vitruvian man, metal-coated by Veronese design. Dated 2006.
The Vitruvian Man originally known as ‘The proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius’ is a drawing made by the Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci in about 1490. It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the Roman architect Vitruvius. The drawing, which is in ink on paper, depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in a circle and square. The drawing represents da Vinci’s concept of the ideal human body proportions.
Made of cast copper resin, which allows greater detail and a nice weight. The item is in excellent vintage condition, no chips and cracks, no repairs. Some small imperfections age related could be found, absolutely insignificant. Very elegant and decorative object.
Height: 21.8 cm. Base: 4 x 21.6 cm. Weight: 920 g.
