Impressive and very old antique Maori fishing hook coming from my private swiss family collection.
Antique Maori fishing hook from New Zealand.
Rare item in excellent condition, from the 19th century or older. Wonderful colour and patina, museal quality!
The partial reflective shell acts as a lure to fish when in the water. Some of the original binding still remains. The hook itself is made out of bronze metal I guess.
