Rare black heteromorph ammonite - Fossil matrix - Kutatissites simionescui
Up for sale is this rare Kutatissites densecostatus from the Barremian period (Lower Cretaceous) of Paja formation. The ammonite was found in Santander, Colombia.
Heteromorph ammonites were a group of unusual uncoiled shape that were particularly developing during the Cretaceous period.
This example is totally preserved in a nice rare black calcite and has been totally prepared in 3D. Note the inusual irregular coil of this strange ammonite.
The fossil only has 1% restoration on some cracks.
You will rarely have any other opportunities to get similar ammonites from this particular location. There is also a smaller straight ammonite (Hamiticeras sp.)
Size of the ammonite is 15 cm.
It will be shipped tracked and insured.
