A superb bychrome stirrup-spout effigy bottle with the shape of a resting loaded Llama. Late Moche, Peru, 450-700 CE Dimensions: 21.9 cm Condition: Excellent condition Provenance: Kemper Collection, Switzerland. Donated to "The Museum of Islamic Art",Jerusalem, during 1970's. Purchased by Yossef Maiman 1991. Estate of Yossef Maiman. Literature: Makowski, Krzystof, Rosenzweif, Alfredo, Diaz Jimenes, Maria Jesus, Offerings for the Afterlife - Peruvian Pottery from the Maiman Collection, Kal Press LTD, Israel, 2006., p. 159 Notes: The Kepmer collection was created between 1940's and 1980's. Items that were not donated to the "The Museum of Islamic Art" were sold at Christie's Amsterdam, 11th April, 1995. Notes: A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany this lot. The piece will include spanish export license for the European Union. If the piece goes outside the European Union a new export license will be requested. This process can take between 2 and 4 weeks.
