Quality antique Victorian drum head mantle pendulum clock with a French-made movement. Beautiful walnut case with ebonised accents raised on a moulded plinth and flanked by carved scrolls. Enamel dial with Roman numerals and lunar / moon hands in original brass bezel with hinged glass cover. Made in France, c, 1870's. Stamped "Medaille d’Argent Vincenti & Cie 1855" Founded in 1823, Vincenti & Cie won awards at the Paris exhibitions of 1834, 1839, 1844, 1849, 1855 and 1867. 1032 g (with pendulum) 17 cm tall 21 x 9.7 cm across the base Pendulum – 11.5 cm Case in good antique condition. Some minor losses to veneer; small chips to glass cover near the edge; some scratches to enamel dial. The movement requires attention - it runs too fast if the pendulum is removed, but doesn't run when the pendulum is attached.
