Marvelous Reticulated Square Dish/Basket produced by Herend - “Queen Victoria” Collection, in excellent to pristine condition. Lovely to display and useful on different occasions, this marvelous large dish is a versatile piece, suitable for keeping sweets, holding personals or simply as a bread basket. The colorful floral and foliate “Queen Victoria “ pattern includes butterflies and other garden insects and was first introduced in 1851 for the First World Exhibition in London. Reportedly, Queen Victoria herself, was taken with the design and purchased a set, leading to the pattern being named in her honor. According to Herend literature, "this Chinese-influenced pattern demands the skills of Herend's most talented and experienced painters." This basket is in excellent to pristine condition, marked with blue Herend shield mark and numbered, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of the description.
