From the oeuvre of the French ceramist and enamelist Michel Folscheid (1919 – 2014), an image of “Madonna with Child”, produced in enamel on baked clay. Apart from being a talented artist, Folscheid also is a well known icon expert and has created this work in the style of an existing icon. Maria is (half) depicted in loving pose with Jesus on her arm. Professionally painted with an eye for detail and enameled in beautiful striking colours on “terre cuit”. Dimensions: L x W x D: 23.5 x 18.5 x 2 cm Weight: 1.3 kg. This icon is produced around 1950 and for many years it was hanging on the wall of a family in the Bourgogne. The object shows hardly any traces of wear, no broken or glued components and is in very good condition. The icon will be packaged with care and sent by parcel post.
