Ancient Greek Cypriot Stone Head, 24 x 7,5 cm - 37 cm height with stand - Spanish Export Licence - Head

This head fragment is in Greek-Cypriot style. It probably belonged to a larger sculpture. It is a female face with very characteristic features such as almond-shaped eyes, a large nose and thick lips. It has a hairstyle with a side ponytail that collects the curly hair. Due to the archaic style that it presents both in the features and in the form of the carving, this sculpture belongs to a first group of figures made early in 8th century BC. *Damaged nose and cheek otherwise in good condition Provenance: Aweidah Gallery, Israel, 2014 Previous owner: Documentation at Aweidah Gallery. Export authorization from the Israel Antiquities Authority No. 526524 with date 07/08/2014 Exhibited: Feriarte, IFEMA (Madrid, 12-20 November 2022) Statement seen by Catawiki. The seller guarantees that he is entitled to ship this lot. The seller will take care that any necessary permits will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer about this if this takes more than a few days. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price and the tax rate is not applied directly on the total value of the item to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are applied to it: - Up to 6,000 euros: 5%. - From 6.001 to 60.000 euros: 10%. Due to Switzerland customs regulations about antiques over 100 years old, this lot cannot be sold to customers residing in Switzerland.
