Indus Valley Terracotta Bowl with Geometric Design (No Reserve Price)

A fine terracotta bowl from the Indus Valley Civilisation featuring a geometric design. The vessel features a hemispherical body that stands on a circular foot. The lower half of the bowl is decorated with three lines of dark pigment from which clusters of five vertical lines are drawn to the lip of the bowl. Smaller arches connect the clusters. Earthy encrustation covers the surface of the vessel. Minor cracks to the rim and the exterior. The Indus Valley Civilisation was one of three early and widespread cradles of civilisation along with Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia.
