Ancient Roman Bronze Applique "Hunting Dog" (No Reserve Price)
Ancient Rome, 1st-4th century AD. Very Nice condition applique presenting the scene of hunting dog attacking wild cat(probably leopard). The same scene is shown in Roman mosaic picture nr. 3 . Very rare and valuable object of Roman History.
Dogs played an important role in ancient Roman society and they were bred as pets, guardians, for herding, hunting, and for war.
