Tsumeb is one of the most mythic localities for the mineral collector. There, the unlikely combination of several geological factors made possible the occurrence of a wide variety of finely crystallized mineral species, to such and extent that this deposit set the highest international standards for several species over the second half of the last century.
Among these, smithsonite and cerussite are among the greatest classics, as Tsumeb is ranked among the most iconic localities for these species!
Here is remarkably fine quality combination specimen from Tsumeb displaying pearly lustre cerussite twins scattered over beautiful and lustrous sea blue smithsonite!
On top of these two perfectly crystallized species, you can notice some beautiful transparent yellow wulfenite crystals on the left side of the specimen and numerous metallic-like oxide balls, possibly arseniosiderite.
One geode at the bottom of the specimen also displays orange colour smithsonite.
A fantastic combination specimen from Tsumeb!
