This vase is in glazed stoneware with a splendid iridescent blue glaze. Under the base it is signed by Alphonse Cytère (1861-1941). Alphonse Cytère was an engineer, close to the famous "Ecole de Nancy", who installed its production at Rambervillers (Vosges, France). The stamp "UNIS FRANCE" is related to the French manufacturers' union that Cytère joined in 1920. Height 24 cm, maximal diameter 11cm This vase dates back to the 1920's and is featured a bit later in a 1931 catalogue as a Port wine bottle (last picture). It can be used as a single-flower vase for a nice Art Deco touch. Good state, no break or crack. The glaze is slightly worn, in a acceptable state for a 100 years old piece.
