Lovely silver (.925) handmade pendant manufactured with the ancient jewellery technique known as filigrana (filigree).
This pendant shows inside an original Roman emperor Elagabalus (218-222 AD) silver denarius minted in Rome.
The coin show the Elagabalus laureate head right and complete legends:
IMP CAES M AVR ANTONINVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus to right.
SALVSANTONINI AVG Salus standing right, feeding snake held in both arms.
BMC 28. RIC 140. RSC 256.
Total silver jewel weight: 6.22 g., 29 mm.
