The casino scene in Dr. No is a pivotal moment in the history of 007 films, the first time the words ‘Bond. James Bond’ are spoken. Real plaques from a noted London Casino were loaned to the production to lend an air of authenticity to the Chemin-de-fer game. Plaques are used to place bets in high-stakes games. Uniformed security guards stood watch off-camera; once filming wrapped all but a very few plaques were returned to the casino. This limited-edition replica set has been copied from the only surviving original props in the EON Productions archive.
