Lot of 17 Visolett dome magnifiers made of bakelite ( 2 ) & glass, Germany ca.1900. The upper convex surface and lens thickness provide the optical power for magnification and the domed convex surface refracts light from all directions onto the surface being magnified. It was invented by Georg Jaekel of Berlin-Zehlendorf, Germany. Dimensions: height - 1.5 cm, diameter - 2.7 cm for 15 magnifiers and 2 x 1.8 x 3.5 cm 2 magnifiers are marked `Visolett glas D.R.P.A.
