Charles-Louis Michelez - Oil painting photography

The subject of the auction is an old photograph of an oil painting made by the French photographer Charles-Louis Michelez (1817-1883). The photograph is signed and stamped by the photographic studio that Michelez ran in Paris, on Jacob Street. He used this seal in the years 1854 - 1858. I think that for collectors of old photography, there is no need to write too much. Charles-Louis Michelez specialized in photographing works of art. In 1861, during the National Art Show, he exhibited a series of photographs of Gustave Doré's original drawings for The Inferno in the photographic room of the Academic Salon. In 1867, he took five photos at the Exposition Universelle in Paris. The photo is pasted on white paper. Dimension of the photo itself: 29cm x 21.5cm. Paper size: 48cm x 38cm
