2004 Clos de la Coulée de Serrant - Savennières - Loire - 2 Bottles (0.75L)

Nicolas Joly offers an exceptional biodynamic wine from this monopoly appellation, with a production of 28,000 bottles. Planted in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Saint-Nicolas d'Angers, this seven-hectare vineyard is ideally situated overlooking the Loire, where the coulée (stream) of Serrant flows into the river. Louis XI and Louis XIV voted it one of their favorite wines. This Savennières required long years of ageing in the cellar before developing an extraordinary range of aromas, varying from mineral to vegetable notes via honey and fruit (candied orange, quince, apricot, toasted almonds). A unique wine that should be uncorked no less than 24 hours prior to consuming. Wine stored in a natural cellar in the Loire Region. Shipment to Europe only with insurance.
