Great Britain 1879 - GB 2d Blue x16 on cover from Haiti - Stanley Gibbons SG47 and SG Z38 (GB used in Haiti)
GB SG47 2d Blue Plate 15 x 16 examples on a remnant of cover, cancelled with the E53 vertical oval of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Kensington, London, on September 10th 1879.
A most unusual and scarce set of 16 stamps, although they have various flaws, creases and damage as shown in the photographs. It comprises a block of 8 stamps SC to TF, a block of 4 stamps QC to RD, an irregular block of 3, QF/RE to RF, and LD. It has been framed behind 2 sheets of glass to help protect the item as it is very fragile. It is a stunning part cover, which despite it's damage issues is a great addition to any collection.
