Confronted with annihilation, they chose to harbor eight Jews in their home and tragically lost their lives at the hands of the German occupiers. The coin features an Amber heart insert and is presented in a case, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Limited to a mintage of 5,000 pieces worldwide, the reverse of the coin depicts the Ulma family: Józef Ulma, a Polish Catholic, his wife Wiktoria, and their six children, residents of Markowa, a small village in southeastern Poland during the war. In 1942, they made the courageous decision to provide refuge to eight Jews, the Szall family, comprising two parents and six children. The reverse bears the inscription "IN MEMORY OF THE ULMA FAMILY," the coin's name, while the obverse showcases a design of palm leaves and lily flowers.
