Great Britain 1841 - GB 1841 1d Black on cover and 1841 1d Red on cover - Stanley Gibbons SG1 (1d Black) + SG8 (1d Red)

A good example of GB Queen Victoria 1d Black on remnant of cover, clearly marked Spilsby April 16th 1841, with Maltese Cross cancellation on the stamp. This is an inherited item from my father and the pencil notation states this is Plate 8, overinked intense black, partly obliterating the 'O' and right cross flaw. I cannot confirm this, so please examine the photos closely so you can make an informed judgement about this. The 1d Black seems to have 4 margins, and consulting the Stanley Gibbons catalogue, it looks a 'fine' example, rather than Very Fine or Superb. The 2nd cover remnant has a 1d Red, SG8 plate 12, again with a Spilsby postmark, September 6 1841. The pencil notes say this has the distinctive squat check letter 'H', again please satisfy yourself this is the case. The items will be very carefully packed and sent by tracked, signed for delivery. I am based in France, so please check if you will be liable for any additional charges when the item is delivered in your destination, such as tax, import duty etc.
