An Old Babylonian terracotta plaque fragment showing the Goddess Ishtar (Inanna). She stands on the back of a lion. She holds with her right hand what appears to be a crook or a sickle-like object. It includes methacrylate support. Clay plaques were a form of art available to a wide audience. Their subject matter varies widely, including religious images, mythological and erotic scenes, and representations of rulers and gods |Babylonian - 2000-1700 B.C. Dimensions: 9,5 x 7,5 cm Condition: Fragmentary piece Some earthy adhessions. Excellent condition. Similar examples: - Seattle Art Museum. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense.
