Ancient Egyptian carnelian cartouche for Ramesses II attached to a modern/antique ring.
The cartouche is incised with the king’s nomen, the last name in his titulary,
reading “Ramesses Beloved of Amun.” It is a white stripe in the carnelian and no crack.
Date: Egypt, New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty, Reign of Ramesses II, ca. 1279 - 1213 B.C.
Material: carnelian
Size: cartouche: ca. 1,8 cm; ring size 54/55
Condition: intact
Provenance: GB estate, bought in the early 1900s in Cairo and thence by descent. In Germany since 2024
