British WW2 large metal Welfare Biscuits Can
In April/May 1945, at the end of the Hunger Winter, Allied food drops took place. These were necessary because many hundreds of thousands of Dutch people in the western Netherlands had been deprived of all kinds of food, clothing and relief supplies for months. This tin was dropped by the Allies at Ypenburg airport (The Hague) on Sunday, April 29, 1944. (see added photo)
