This lovely carboniferous matrix shows lots of high quality 3D plant fossils of Neuropteris ovata, positive and negative, The contrast is stunning! The matrix is an iron clay stone so the stone material is volcanic ash that covered the fossils in an instant that time and therefore the plants were preserved perfectly. The stone was found by myself in the region of the district Moselle in France in May 2024. Found in rest material that came out of the former coal mines in this region. The fossil is between 309 and 302 million years old.
