The chess set consists of 32 authentic solid tin statues on an enamel base, of the protagonists of the famous Battle of Waterloo. They also contain a number. The chess set depicts a few historical figures, including Napoleon, Wellington, Ney and the Prince of Orange. The chess pieces are made by artist Philip J. Haythornthwaite and consist of a copper base with enamel hoop, and sculptures made of tin. Produced by Franklin Mint and the Waterloo Museum. The wooden boxs shows signs of wear, see photos.
