Nicolas Le Beuan Bénic
opened his first gallery in 1997 in Brussels.
In 2006, he opened his new personal gallery on the Mont des Arts in the European capital, Brussels.
He continuously tries to experiment, to practice a figuration, sometimes tending towards abstraction especially in photography.
Nicolas Le Beuan Bénic, using portraits from the 19th and 20th centuries that he disembodied, perhaps reveals a certain vanity in the art of the posed portrait. These portraits reveal a fascinating mystery that stimulates our imagination.
As a child, I was always aesthetically sensitive to family portraits, but the presence of these eyes was often too intense. I like the idea of a truly anonymous portrait that does not impose any presence. "
