Sabina was born in the 2nd century to a noble family and given away in marriage to Senator Valentino when she was still very young.
Her handmaid Serapia converted her to Christianity and along with her, Sabina attended the secret reunions at the catacombs, where the Christians persecuted by the Roman State used to gather.
She got captured during a mass and, since she refused to give up her faith, the Roman Prefect Elpidio sentenced her to death by beheading in ca. 120.
