Acanthopyge like trilobite from Jorf.
Jorf is a prolific quarry of outstanding trilobites, almost all of them new to science. In last years, gorgeous specimens and slabs have been found here.
The silica at Jorf is quite colourful and the trilobites display that unique colour. The translucent rock is very hard to separate from the exoskeleton. The work is only possible to very few expert skilled hands. Often we see extremely rare specimens over-blasted, which is a shame for such rare beauties.
This trilobite has no restoration except for residual cracks on the exoskeleton and matrix, as usual.
This undescribed Acantophyge-like trilobite shows long pygidial spines and medium-sized genal ones. The general form is elongated. In the near future, two or three species from this genus/complex might be described from Jorf.
