Bolivian commemorative sword with sheath heavily gilded with mother-of-pearl handle and heavily gilded bracket hilt. A very special and unique Simon Bolivar sword. The sword is very heavy and is therefore not suitable as sword, the balance is wrong.
Parts of Bolivia's coat of arms are the Condor, the laurel branches and the star.
On the sword itself are the following texts in Esperanto
Livertador de Colombia y del Peru - Liberator of Colombia and Peru
Chungapoma me fecit en Lima - Chungapoma made me in Lima
Union I Livertad ano de 1825 - Union and liberation in the year 1825
Chungapoma is the great indigenous goldsmith that Simon Bolivar spoke to in 1825, this blacksmith had made the most beautiful golden sword in the world at the time inlaid with 1367 diamonds. Hence the text on the sword Chungapoma made me in Lima.
After the Bolivian war of independence, in 1825, in honour of Simon Bolivar, the Republic of Bolivar was named after him, the name eventually became Bolivia. Since then, Bolivia has had 188 wars and coups.
