15.6 cm diameter and 7.5 cm height.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Capus Miller Waynick, North Carolina, United States of America.

Mr. Capus Miller Waynick acquired this collection of pre-Columbian pottery while serving as United States ambassador to Nicaragua from 1949 to 1951 and to Colombia from 1951 to 1953. Waynick was appointed to these positions by President Harry Truman in recognition of his assistance in the 1948 campaigns. In 1951 he would temporarily return to the United States to organize President Truman's Point IV program, whose objective was to help and revitalize underdeveloped nations. Mr. Waynick received all of the pottery offered here as gifts from local people during his tenure as ambassador.

CONDITION: Good condition. No restorations.
