A very rare sculpture, made by Allach (Allach was made in the neighbouring camp of the infamous Dachau concentration camp). The item depicts a sitting young dachshund. The left paw of the sculpture was once restored (see photos). The restoration is slightly discoloured, in contrast to the rest of the sculpture. The Allach sculptures are known for their bright white colours. This restoration was done by a recognised professional at the time. Unfortunately, this could not prevent the discolouration. Basically, it is difficult to restore ‘Allach white’ without colour variations occurring, this can virtually not be done. Nevertheless, this is a rare sculpture. Made is ca. 1936. Model 2, designed by Theodor Karner. The height of the sculpture is 14 cm and otherwise in intact condition. What makes these sculptures so special? Allach porcelain was often broken and destroyed after the war. These items are difficult to find and very sought after by collectors! Weight of this beautiful piece is approx. 422 grams. The sculpture is stamped on the bottom with the correct Allach markings (see photos). Please study the photos well, they are part of the description. This object was part of a collection that was accumulated over a period of over 50 years. This is offered up for auction by us on behalf of a client. The object can be viewed under strict conditions.
