Impressive black marble mantel clock with a bronze statue of a scholarly man with books. French mantel clock, signed, period 1820. Has been checked by a clockmaker and runs and strikes well. Original hands and enamelled dial behind (pristine) cut glass. Convex glass in the back door. Dial has been restored near the IX (see photo). Clock height 25 cm, including statue 50 cm. Width 46 cm. Depth 15 cm. Weight 34 kg. Clock comes with a winding key. In very good condition. Marble is nearly undamaged, two small lips on the front. Due to the fragility of the marble, pick-up in Zeist (near Utrecht) is preferred. Shipping is possible with a delivery company, in which case the clock will be packed in a crate with polystyrene, at the buyer's expense.
