Antique and very rare beekeeper - or so-called Dathe pipe - ca. 1890 - (19th century)
Antique and very rare beekeeper pipe in very luxurious version and richly decorated with floral motifs. The pipe is in very good condition and in good working order.
The Dathe pipe was developed by and named after Gustav Dathe (1813-1880) and this one is made by a coppersmith with two lids with springs above the reservoir; for inserting smokable dust and blowing out smoke developed in the pipe respectively.
Unlike the later improved models (from ca. 1900) this antique model still has no ball valve in the mouth stick.
Dimensions:
Length: 28.8 cm.
Diameter 4.2 cm.
Condition: In very good condition with a very small dent in the mouth stick.
