Beautiful zamak image of a young woman. The artist has put a lot of care in the detailing of her face, clothing and musical instrument. It is signed on the base by the maker. TOn the front of the picture is a plaque with the title of the image "Mignon" and the name of the maker "Par. Hip. Moreau".
Hippolyte Moreau is a son of the famous sculpture Jean-Baptiste Moreau and has learned the trade from his father.
Together with his brothers Mathurin and Auguste, he has made many beautiful sculptures.
He has exhibited in the Salon des artistes Francais and gotten a medal at the Exposition Universelle.
Some of his works are housed in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dijon.
Patina partly touched up later. The sculpture is placed on a marble base
