Guido Cora: Guido Cora, who was born in 1851 in Turin and died in 1917, was an Italian geographer. He taught geography in Turin from 1882 to 1897. He founded a private geographical club and the magazine “Cosmos”.

Description: the globe consists of a plaster sphere, screwed at the two ends and mounted on a tripod. The globe is covered by a layer of paper that represents the earth’s surface, divided politically and complete with grid of parallels and meridians. The southern hemisphere has the following inscription: “GLOBO TERRESTRE fisico e politico disegnato dal prof. Guido Cora. Scala 1:72000000 - G. B. PARAVIA e Ci. TORINO-ROMA-MILANO-FIRENZE - Editori”.
