One of the very first 'Slabby' Gixxers, built for Japan in February 1985. This even has these 'Micky Mouse' mirrors, the fuel gauge which expired in 1985 and the ‘thin’ front fender. Even the less bright red saddle is part of it. This machine is completely original: the paintwork, but also the neat exhaust. Not restored, it’s also not necessary. It does a good polish. The right mirror and the (non-original) cockpit window have suffered because a bike parked next to it caught fire. The mirror is okay, the cockpit windshield needs to be replaced. These original ones go up in value a lot more in England than here, especially those which haven’t been restored. A newer Gixxer is faster, but this lightweight (186 kg) 'Slabby' can still achieve 230 km. It’s not about that any more, it’s a hi-tech icon (see it as a: Honda CB 750 - 2.0), this great GSX R 750 is one of the highlights of the 80s. It has stood still for almost 20 years; no repairs, but the dirty inside of the tank and carburetors need cleaning. The block is ‘new’ with such low mileage, very fresh and neat.
