Sudan - a nice Kaskara - Lyhyt miekka
This nice looking 19th century sword is made in a typical, African medieval-style and clearly has the characteristic elements that can be found in the countries like Sudan, Chad and Eritrea. The cross shaped hilt has a leather covered grip and pommel.
The blade is double-edged and has double marks (half-moon) on both sides.
The scabbard is made of decorated leather and still has its original hanging belts (fragile).
This type of sword is sometimes also connected to the Tuareg people.
The condition is good (some wear in accordance with its age).
