Pair of antique large ceramic vases with lid by "Ceramica Nove Agostinelli e dal Prà." Early 1900s Chinese-style potiches, Bassano (Italy). Given the kind of paste and the signature on the base, these vases were manufactured in the early years of this Bassanese factory and can be dated back between 1915 and 1925. Noteworthy are the beautiful colours, quality and originality of the painted decorations, which, thanks to the technique used, seem almost made in pastel. Decorated by hand, with raised segments framed with flowers, birds and butterflies. The "Agostinelli e dal Prà" ceramic factory rose from the ashes of "Società Ceramica Cooperativa" (active in the area since 1890) in 1904, founded by Domenico Agostinelli from Bassano - a descendant of a potters family, which was already active in the area in the early eighteenth century) and Giuseppe dal Prà, also a descendant of generations of majolica makers, which took over the ancient and historic "Tommasi" furnace. Conditions: two slight nicks on one vase, at the neck’s edge, and signs of restoration at the neck of the other one (see photos with the red circles). Dimensions:h 60 cm, d 30 cm
