Olivetti, Lettera 82 - Suunnittelija Marcello Nizzoli - kirjoituskone
In good and working condition.
It was designed in 1959 by the architect and designer Marcello Nizzoli, collaborator of the Ivrea company since 1938, in collaboration with the engineer Giuseppe Beccio. It replaced the Olivetti Lexicon 80 model, released in 1948 and designed by Nizzoli and Beccio, taking up much of the mechanical parts from the previous typewriter.
Five different carriages were available: 90, 125,168, 220 and 260 spaces.[1]
The keyboard is in the QZERTY layout, as typical of Italian keyboards (excluding modern computer keyboards). In addition to the writing keys, the keyboard includes a space bar, two upper-case keys, a shift lock key, the backspace and a tab key.
The set of writing keys has an obvious deficiency: there is no key with number zero, which is obtained by typing the uppercase O (o). Although this may seem strange today, it was quite common in old typewriters. Also keys for accented capitals, used to write in Italian language, are missing.
