The Kila lamp was designed for IKEA by Harry Allen around 2001. IKEA hired famous designers for their products in order to interest 'the better and wealthier' customers in their stores. These products are now becoming true collector's items. This model was designed because of Allen's interest in roller skating. The three rubber wheels support the lamp and let it move around in circles. The head of the lamp can be turned into any direction and looks like a dog's head. It looks at you very playfully! The lamp is sometimes also called the Red Dog. The lamp has discoloured a bit at one side due to sunlight, barely noticeable (please view the photos).
