Info: Jan Toorop (1858-1928) was, together with Van Gogh and Mondriaan, considered one of the most important Dutch artists of the period around the 1900s. They focussed themselves on the newest, international developments in arts and new how to inspire other artists. For example, Toorop was a great source of inspiration to Gustav Klimt. The scene shows a woman in the foreground, who is listening to and requesting some attention for the harpist in the background.
