Quite rare and hardly ever offered for sale. A real piece of Dutch history, a pair of clogs. These are still a piece of living history in the Netherlands, today wooden clogs are still worn and produced. Who doesn't know the “Wooden Shoes” across the world! The history of the Clog goes back to the Middle Ages. In the 15th century it was discovered that the clog could also be made out of one solid piece of wood. Unfortunately the craft has now shrunk to a few remaining clog-makers (15 in 2017). Willow and poplar are the most commonly used wood types for clogs. 3 of the 4 chisels are branded. 2 x Lesscher Losser. 1 x DS.
