Carl Gottlieb Schubert - Manufaktur Fürstenberg - Frederick Suuri hevosen selässä - Posliini
Three-piece porcelain centrepiece from the manufactory Fürstenberg, which shows Friedrich II of Prussia (called ‘The Old Fritz’) on a horse. This item was made in the 19th century, the design dates back to the late 18th century by Carl Gottlieb Schubert. The total height is approx. 50 cm. The Fürstenberg brand was burned into the figure and the pedestal. In the base there is also the sample designation "A. a. M. 418", under which the plastic is still produced today.
Damage / flaws: The base has a small fracture at one of the top edges (marginal, see pictures). The tricorne has two small break lines (marginal, see pictures). The wooden trunk under the body of the horse has a furrow in the glazing. Otherwise there are smaller, but quite normal inclusions, which I have photographed all. The sword sheath has a device for turning into the plastic, which is broken off at the top of the thread, so it can no longer be turned in. However, it is very easy to glue it back in place. The sword seems to have been glued in the middle. Otherwise, the set is in good condition and an absolute eye-catcher. The cords originally attached to the stirrups (the same as the reins, i.e. not made of porcelain) are also missing, but can just as easily be replaced by a white cord.
