General information: Rare, sought-after, early (academic) work by this artist. This can be determined quite certainly since his signature was still JJG at the time. In addition, I have contacted him and the provenance has been confirmed by Kenne himself. Grégoire comes from an artist family, he is son of sculptor Paul Grégoire and younger brother of Pépé Grégoire of artist Hélène Grégoire and sculptor Pépé Grégoire. He studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam (1967-1973), where he was taught by among others Otto de Kat. Grégoire paints figurative, among other still lifes, portraits, nudes, interiors and figures from the Commedia dell'arte. In 1973, he won the Silver Prix de Rome.
