A very fine Sri Lankan statuette of a Oandy elephant carved from Ebony with bone tusks and clad in filigree silver embossed with red and colorless gemstones (not tested)
The Kandy Esala Perahera (the Sri Dalada Perahara procession of Kandy) also known as The Festival of the Tooth is a festival held in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy
The relic casket, which is a replica of the Tooth Relic, is placed inside the ransivige affixed to the heavily bejeweled Maligawa Elephant
Condition - In a very good condition with minor signs of age related wear
The silver cover for one tusk not present
