Hinomaru Yosegaki Flag , Very Big Size 日の丸 寄せ書き Size: 146×163 cm This is a rare old Yosegaki flag. This flag is really very large. The red circle in the center alone measures 86 cm x 86 cm. The cloth is thick and the corners are double layered. It is likely that it was used in a large ceremony hall. During World War II, the Japanese created this flag to send soldiers off to war. The words written here are words of support for soldiers going to the battlefield and names of supporters. The Japanese words "武運長久BUUN-CHOUKIYU" can be seen. That mean "Good luck and live long on the battlefield and back home.". These words are typical of prayers to soldiers during wartime. The "year" is written in the lower left corner. "昭和七年八月" means "August 1932". This flag is old and some areas that are stains and rubbing. Please see photos and understand. I will contact you individually with the information written if you wish.
