I purchased this car in Burbank, California, from actor Samson Ghaffary, I imported it into Italy, and I took it with me when I moved to Poland, where it was registered. This vehicle is a custom car that has been substantially modified and shaped by hand, starting from an original chassis; the 300 hp engine is not original but has been prepared expressly (hot rod). As you can see on tv, the most famous American customizers change every car in its entirety, and their expert hands leave their own style on the new body. This Mercury Monterrey "2 Door Custom Coupé" is equipped with Chevy 350 Four Bolt Main 5700 V8 engine, with Mallory distribution and Edelbrook carburetor. The engine has been rectified, and has covered approximately 2,700 Km. Edelbrook water pump and TCI TH400 Turbo transmission are new. The 6-layer matte black paint is still in good condition but shows some flaws on the hood (please, see pictures to get a more precise idea of them). As a whole the car is really a spectacular one, and nothing could be done to repair or to protect the hood: its simple closing creates a kind of stress on its corners. This is a chopped car (its top has been lowered), and therefore it lost its original line of sight. The chop job has been done to make it more similar to Cobretti's car in Cobra, the 1986 American action film. Being lowered, the car now has a more limited turning radius. This vehicle is a show car that won the American cars first prize at 2011 Bike Expo fair in Verona. It can be used daily (over short distances), but it still remains a vintage car, perfectly suited to exhibitions and motor shows. It gave me a lot of satisfaction in the years, and it attracted thousands of fans.
