Title: Fishermen on the pier Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 84x66 cms Rafael Falcó Güell was born on June 11, 1928 in the Catalan town of Monistrol de Montserrat, studying his first drawing studies with Ramón Artín and Pere Comas. Orphaned by his father and mother, he was taken in by his paternal uncles and studied at the Barcelona Industrial School (1940), traveled through Spain, Morocco and Tunisia (1958) and made numerous drawings and watercolors. The luminosity and intense coloring will decisively influence his painting, which is why he will be considered, from now on, a member of the Levantine School. Returning to Barcelona, ​​he studied impressionist painting under the guidance of Escola Massana professor Rafael Benet, making his first collective at the Mundi Art gallery (1960), being represented until 1970 by the Augusta gallery in Barcelona. In March 1973 he performed his first solo performance in the Jaimes room on Paseo de Gracia with many of his favorite themes: children on the beach and marinas on the Costa Brava. Later he settled in Paris, traveled through Spain and Italy and held multiple personal and group exhibitions in Barcelona and the Costa Brava.
