OTAKE Chikuha (January 11, 1878 - June 2, 1936) was an ukiyo-e artist from the Meiji to Showa periods. , Japanese painter. He was one of the so-called three Otake brothers, with Koshido Otake being the older brother and Kunikan Otake being the younger brother. Born on January 12, 1878 in present-day Niigata City. His real name is Somekichi. His father was Otake Kuramatsu. At the age of 4, he studied under Unseki Sasada of the Southern Sect and received the pseudonym of Jukpo. He is also called Takeo. When he was 5 years old, he started painting fusuma (sliding doors), and by the age of 6, he was able to draw flowers and birds with skillful brush strokes, and was said to be a child prodigy. It is also said that from the age of 10, he helped his family with his drawings.
