◆Vintage National Flag "The Rising Sun"
Size: 34×50 cm
Material: cotton
The flag of the Rising Sun (KYOKUJITU-KI 旭日旗) is a design of the sun and sunlight (Rising Sun). The most well-known flag is the one with 16 rays of light opening at 22.5 degrees (the sixteen-striped rising sun flag). There are other flags with a variety of rays, such as 4, 8, 12, and 24 stripes.
Since ancient times, it has been a traditional Japanese flag and a symbol of good luck, signifying Hare (a festival). After the Meiji Restoration, the flag was also used as a military flag.
In World War II, both the army and navy fought under the flag of the Rising Sun.
Please see the last photo.
The Rising Sun flag (KYOKUJITU-KI 旭日旗) is a symbol of Japan at that time, along with the Hinomaru (日の丸).
We know that this was used by the Japanese Navy because the position of the sun is slightly to the left of center.
This flag is old and has some stains, but is in good condition.
Please understand the situation.
